It started off smooth.
A relationship with so much promise
Late night convo's
Mid day comments
Had you believing that the impossible could happen.
You delivered your heart
With the appropriate gift wrapping.

But before you could blink
The opportunity slipped
Through the cracks of your fingers
Being compared to others in the past
Guess those feelings still lingered.

Unfair?
Life never was.
But how do you get over something
That never really was?
You've  felt worse
This was only a couple months.
You've felt this before
Didn't you get the hunch?

You just do
What you are used too.
Move on to the next.
And keep it brief if she texts
Be cordial with a hello
Your a fellow with manners
You were brought up a certain way
But in the end, none of it rally mattered.

You can't delete her out your life.
Be a friend.
Congratulate her if she finds love.
And extend your arms whenever she needs a hug.
Too much for you to handle?
Because deep down inside
all you want
Is to stare In her eyes under the lights of a candle.

Tell her
That you did what you could.
To show her you cared
So that eventually
Love would be something shared
But things happen for a reason.
Like the seasons
Things change.
You seen the fireworks.
You were just tryna ignite a flame.

Moving on should be easy.
Your feelings never got vested
Looking for the quick exit
But your feelings got tested
Moving on is the feeling
That you never wanna visit.
So  it should be easy this time around.
